Disease thrives in stagnation

Your physical body is your health indicator.

If you notice you have acne, hair loss, or weight issues…. well… that’s a hormonal imbalance.

Thankfully, your body tells you with these symptoms that you need to take care of yourself so that you can feel better!

And sometimes different symptoms show up in different phases of your cycle, for example, you might get an acne breakout right before getting your period but not after your period.

REMEMBER THIS: Stress is one of the top main things to take care of when balancing your hormones!

& that not only means your mental and emotional stress, but how you treat your body as well!

Your physical body changes throughout your cycle which means that you need to move differently throughout your cycle.

Here are some tips on how to move with your cycle:

MENSTRUATION

When hormones & energy are lowest

  • stretching
  • gentle movements
  • yin yoga

FOLLICULAR

Growth phase, estrogen rising

  • muscle building
  • cardio
  • HIIT
  • heavier weights at the gym

OVULATION

Estrogen is peaking, joints susceptible to injury so make sure to engage your muscles

  • grounded, strength training
  • heavier weights

LUTEAL

Estrogen goes low then up again until it dips right before your period, but sedating Progesterone is dominating this phase, making your body more flexible

  • dance
  • gentle flow yoga
  • long walks

If you over-exercise in the Luteal phase (which is when your hormones hope you got pregnant, therefore making you hungrier & stress levels naturally higher), you’ll be creating more stress in your body…

…which means you turn on fat storage, muscle wasting & bone density loss!

So take it easy in the Luteal phase, as well as the Menstrual phase.
